"Life in Porn"
Amos Lassen

I do not know how Robin Anderson does it—this is the ninth book of his that I have read and am reviewing
and he never gets stale. He always manages to us something new and that is well written and full of wit.
In “Versus” he takes a look at the British gay porn industry. I don’t know Robin personally; only through
his books but he is obviously some kind of Renaissance Camilla man with many different interests and
he also seems to have really good insight into what goes on behind the scenes in the porn world.

His characters are always larger than life and a bit off-center. Here we meet Camilla Galsworthy, a fag hag
film producer and her star, Abel Semen and when these two get together, sparks fly. When several porn
stars are suddenly put out to pasture…well, you can imagine that something serious is going on. Enter
Detective Pucker Unsworth who has come to find out exactly what is going on and he is determined to find
the guilty person. What goes down from that point is for you to find out by reading the book. I surely do
not want to spoil your fun and your chance for an excellent read. Just take my word for it — when you read
Robin Anderson, it is impossible not to be hooked.

Grady Harp – Amazon

For those who have followed at least a few of the many books penned by British author Robin Anderson this latest foray into the naughty adult tales will come as perhaps no surprise but will be welcomed with a least a dozen laughs on every page. As this reviewer has written before, `Robin Anderson is a unique writer with no imitators: no one can write hilarious fiction with as many sexy zingers and wild characters as he.' The words stand and are embellished by this his loony foray into the pornography film industry (as if all of his books were not parodies of contemporary issues, so outrageous they all continue to be!).

Anderson's ability to find character's names pushes the envelope on the Thesaurus - plays on words, names of extreme creativity pepper this hilarious tale best summarized by AMAZON’s own synopsis on the book page. For some reason Amazon allows the language of their own synopsis but will not allow readers to refer to it – apparently it is considered indecent? Go figure.

Robin steps a bit more heavily into the crime arena this time around but that most assuredly does not mean that despite the horrors that occur keeps him from his usual hefty doses of hilarious fol-de-rol. It is another fast and completely satisfying read as we place a new book on Robin's growing shelf.

A review from Gaydar Nation

"It's like Jackie Collins on crystal meth aided and abetted by Jilly Cooper with a coke problem."

"VERSUS is a sexy, shameless, deliciously wicked slice of well-crafted queerotica that's perfect for summer beach-reading season."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gay Times

"An unashamed 'bonk-buster' from the author of REGINA, RED SNAPPER and SEBASTIAN & SELINE."

QX Magazine

"Described as 'Gladiator meets Brideshead Refisted' (not a typo!) Robin Anderson's filthy novel is a rough and tumble foray into the glitzy world of London's gay porn film industry. VERSUS shows what happens when two film crews go to war, with wonderful characters such as fag-hag Camilla Galsworthy and well-hung actor Abel Semen!"
